As a potter, I am primarily concerned with the vessel’s potential as a metaphor and as a vehicle for the expression of form and ideas.  Nature, machines, and architecture frequently inform my process and provide inspiration.  Whether sculpture or vessel, the ultimate concern for me is whether or not the work is coherent, capable of engaging the viewer’s attention and if it adds to what has been done before.          
      I am also interested in the informal dialogue between the vessel and its user.  I feel gratified when my work can be appreciated through a tactile experience and in the intimate and celebratory reflections of others.
